An important aspect of our Day of Honor trip to Washington, D.C., is the one-to-one veteran-to-guardian ratio we provide to ensure the safety, comfort and enjoyment of our senior heroes. We would be unable to fly as many veterans as we do on each trip and still maintain this ratio if it were not for our D.C.-based volunteer corps that is specifically dedicated to our hub.
Recently, D.C.-area student Natalie Borsuk talked with a number of these talented volunteers who make the day so special for our senior veterans flight after flight. Read their profiles below to discover what motivates them to give back and how their impact extends beyond flight day!
“They spent four, five, six years in the war being shot at. You can spend eight hours of your day and give something back.”
